The questionnaire has now been translated to German and Swedish. All questionnaires can be found here at the DIRECT-MAT homepage. The purpose is to find out potential end users’ opinions and expectations on the future database.

The general frame for the DIRECT-MAT database is now ready and the call for the database software programming is sent out.

The final seminar of the EC FP6 funded projects Arches and Spens was held on 27–29 August in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and FEHRL promoted the DIRECT-MAT project with poster and leaflets. There is a link to the seminar information here.

A French version of the introductory article, entitled “DIRECT-MAT – Partage à l'échelon européen des connaissances et des pratiques en matière de recyclage des matériaux de la route”, is published in ”Revue Générale des Routes et Aérodromes”, No 877 pp 77–79. It is the leading French journal of roads and airfields since 1926 and is distributed to about 15 000 readers in over 50 countries. There is a link to the journal and the abstract here (it is abstract number twelve).

A short notice entitled “Databas ska underlätta återvinning” is published in the Swedish journal "Roads". It is the magazine of the contractor NCC Roads and you will find the notice on page 16 in No 2/2009.

A Danish version of the introductory article, entitled “DIRECT-MAT – At samle bedste praksis i Europa om opbrydning og genanvendelse af vejmaterialer”, is published in the journal ”Trafik & Veje – Dansk Vejtidsskrift”. You will find the article on pages 32–35 in No Juni/Juli 2009 here.

An introductory article, entitled “Direct-Mat maakt “best practices” hergebruik wegenbouwmaterialen zichtbar”, is published in the Dutch journal “BEwerken”, No June/2009 p14. It is the quarterly journal of BRBS (Association for Recycling Breaking and Sorting C&D waste). There is a link to the article here.
